Alex Corretja is the newly appointed Captain for the Davis Cup team for Spain is hopeful that the king of clay, Rafael Nadal will be available for the Davis Cup competitions for Spain.
Corretja while speaking with the sources has aid that, neither of them (Rafael Nadal or David Ferrer) have not yet told him regarding the Skipping of Davis Cup competitions for Spain in 2012. However, the newly appointed captain has said that, he will be speaking to the top seeded Spaniards at the 2012 Australia Open to play certain ties in Davis Cup matches.
The newly appointed captain, Corretja has said that, my obligation as captain is to speak to all of the players and the coaches. Not one player has personally told me that they will not play. If some players say they need time to rest, I can only respect that and try to put together the best team possible for each series.
Meanwhile, Rafael Nadal and David Ferrer, after leading Spain to clinch 5th Davis Cup title have already confirmed that they will be not participating in the Davis Cup ties in 2012.
Former Murry Coach has said about his team that, he team will depend on how the players look and how motivated they are. What I want to see is a lot of desire that every player wants to be part of this team and be motivated about being part of the best generation in the history of Spanish tennis.
Corretja, who has been a coach for Andy Murray in past has said that, This is a wonderful moment for me personally and professionally and added that, And I want to bring all of my experience from Spanish tennis, from what I lived as a player and afterward when I worked as a TV commentator and coach to Andy Murray, an experience from which I learned a lot and helped me take this decision.
