Maria Sharapova, Venus Williams, Robin Soderling Out in Start of 2012

"Maria Sharapova"The top seeded players in tennis, Maria Sharapova, Venus Williams and Robin Soderling have already been knocked out of the opening tournaments in the 2012.

Former Russian No.1 player, Maria Sharapova, who has returned tennis this season and made a superb comeback winning two-WTA titles and reaching the finals of the Wimbledon grand slam tournament, is once again in trouble with injuries, which has made her to pull-out from the season opening tournament in Brisbane.

Sharapova while speaking with the sources has said that, I was really looking forward to starting my 2012 season at the Brisbane International, which has a fantastic reputation as a great and welcoming event. But, my ankle is not 100 percent and I won’t be able to make it this year. I do expect to be ready for the year’s first Grand Slam and I am really looking forward to competing on court.

Former American No.1, Venus Williams was out of tennis, since the fourth round of the US Open, due to Sjogren’s syndrome. The American player decide to return to tennis in new season, But due to the recovery, Venus has decided to withdrawn from the WTA event in New Zealand, ACB Classics.

Venus has said that, the last six months have been a learning curve for me, in terms of learning about Sjogren’s and how it makes me feel, and what I can do and added that, I’m coming along well. (Sjogren’s) is definitely a big concern. But at the end of the day, it’s important to know what I’m dealing with. My main goal is to be healthy for the Olympics.

Meanwhile, former world No.5, Robin Soderling was out of tennis, since last July, due glandular fever has already pulled out of the next year opening grand slam event, Australia Open.

Earlier, top seeded Swede, Soderling has said that, I am feeling better with each day but it will still take some time before I can start practicing in full speed. My goal is to start with practice in January and I hope for tournament comeback in February but at this stage it is hard to know when and where. I hope my body will allow me to do that.

Still one more week is there to start the New Year. However, the top seeded players in tennis have already started their being withdraw from the opening tournament. So, we need to wait and see the other players, who are gonn to pull out of the tournaments.
