World No.3, Roger Federer having got a perfect end to the season winning the 2011 ATP World Tour Finals against Jo-Wilfred Tsonga will be back again in New Year to defend his title in Doha.
Swiss, Federer, who had a frustrating season until the 2011 US Open has just won a single title at Doha. However, the Master of tennis has taken a great decision of being out of the Asian tournaments has made him to return to form by winning back to back title in Basel, Paris and the last but not the least, clinching his sixth-ATP championship title to go ahead of the Pete Sampras Ivan Lendl.
16-times grand slam champion, Federer has finally ended-up the season in huge style by clinching four-ATP world tour titles and returned back top of ranking.
Fans favorite, Federer will be returning to action next season in the Doha Open, which is scheduled to be held from January 2-7, 2012. Federer will be hoping to defend his title at Doha, when he competes’ with the fellow players with the likes of Rafael Nadal, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Gael Monfils and 2010 champion Nikolay Davydenko join a host of international athletes in the 32-player field.
Meanwhile, No.3, Federer, who has not won any grand slam titles this season, is now aiming to clinch a title in new season in 2012.
The new aim for the Swiss Maestro, Roger Federer is to clinch his 17th Grand Slam title in 2012.
