Tennis Indian Express, Mahesh Bhupathi and Leander Paes having won three-grand titles in their duo have decided to separate for the second time in their career.
11-times doubles champion, Bhupathi has said that, it was the complete decision of Paes to go Spilt, Leander felt that we were possibly a little too old on the track and as both the players are both of them more then 30-years, Paes decided to have a younger legs on both the sides.
Former world No.1 double’s team have re-united, after a span of 9-years, early this season to prepare for the London Olympics next. However, things have not went right, due to which they Indian duo have finally decided broke their partnership in the ATP World tour tournaments.
Bhupathi has stated that, they is no-rivalry between both of them, which was in past. However, he reported that, it was hard for him to explain about their split.
It’s very hard for me to explain that decision. It wasn’t my decision. When we started playing last year the Olympics was a goal, Australia and the World Championships were a goal.
But as I said, Leander has a difference of opinion and I have to respect that. We’re professionals and at the end of the day we both love to compete and to win and we do whatever it takes to get the best out of both of us.
Bhupathi maintained that two don’t have any bitterness towards each other.
We had a chat once we got back from Shanghai Masters and since then we’ve been playing well and practicing pretty well in Mumbai so there was definitely no fall-out. He has his opinion and I’ve got to respect that. Because of that, we’ve both found new partners for next year.
According to the reports, Bhupathi will be paring-up with Rohan Bopanna, while, Paes will be paring with Czech, Radek Stepanek in the 2012 Season.
