The World No. 1 ranked Novak Djokovic and 16-time major title holder Roger Federer has return back to training sessions after a long time, where both the players hopes to hit the top form in the 2011 Basel Open tournament.
The four-time Grand Slam champion Djokovic has been working hard on the practice sessions, after withdrawn from the Serbia’s Davis Cup semi-finals singles match against Juan Martin Del Potro of Argentina on 18th September. Djokovic had a 64-3 win loss record in this season, where he has just lost one match to Roger Federer at the 2011 French Open semi finals in Roland Garros in four sets. Djokovic said he will play hard to win the opening round match against World No. 50th ranked Xavier Malisse of Belgium on Tuesday 1st November in Basel.
The 30-year-old Federer is having the most of the opportunities to win the Basel Open title for fifth occasion in front of home fans. Swiss maestro, who has been pulled out of the China Open and Shanghai Rolex Masters, he will face a tough battle against best players of the season at Basel Open. Federer might face Andy Roddick of United States before the tournament quarter finals and likely to face Andy Murray in the Basel Open semi finals. Federer said he had a tricky draw at the Swiss Open and will take on Potito Starace of Italy in the opening round on Monday on Swiss Indoor hard courts.
