The World No. 1 Novak Djokovic, Britain top seed Andy Murray and 16-time Grand Slam holder Roger Federer will lead the 2011 Basel Open tournament on Monday 31st October at the Swiss Indoor hard courts in Basel.
The man-in-form Djokovic has been seeded No. 1 follows by No. 2 seed Andy Murray and No. 3 seed Roger Federer in the 2011 Basel Open tournament, an ATP World Tour 500 series played on Swiss Indoor hard courts from Monday. The Swiss maestro will step out as a defending champion at Swiss Indoor hard courts, where Federer has overcome against Djokovic in 2010 Basel Open final and he had an outstanding record with 38-7 record including previous victories in 2006 to 2008 and 2010.
The 30-year-old Federer, who has been playing his first tournament, since appearing in the Switzerland’s Davis Cup World Group Play-off semi final tie against Australia in September. Federer is aiming to clinch the fifth title at Basel Open this week and second ATP Tour title, after Doha Open in this season. The four-time Grand Slam champion Djokovic is likely to meet Xavier Malisse of Belgian in the opening round of the 2011 Basel Open.
The World No. 3 ranked Andy Murray is looking one of the hot favorite to clinch the title this week at Basel, after winning three consecutive titles at Thailand, Japan Open and Shanghai Rolex Masters. The Britain top seed hopes to win the sixth ATP title of the season at Basel.
