The World No. 11th ranked Andrea Petkovic will clash against Russian star Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in the quarter finals of the 2011 China Open on Friday at 11:35 GMT.

The German star Andrea Petkovic has reached quarter finals of the 2011 China Open, after beating Frenchwomen Marion Bartoli in three sets with a 4-6, 6-4 and 7-5 score line in the third round on Wednesday. Petkovic has overcome against Carla Suareznavarro of Spain in straight sets and Lucie Safarova of Czech Republic in consecutive sets. The German has showing outstanding tennis this year, where she also reached quarter finals of Australian Open, French Open and US Open this year.

The 20-year-old Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova has entered into the quarter final of the tournament, after top seed Victoria Azarenka Belarus has been withdrawn from the 2011 China Open with injury. Pavlyuchenkova has conquers against Mariajose Martinezsanchez of Spain in two sets in second round and Barbora Zahlavovastrycova of Czech Republic in straight sets in the first round.

The pair has been clashing for the first time in career, where the odds favors Petkovic will win the match and advance into the semi final of the 2011 China Open on Friday. The 24-year-old Andrea Petkovic is one of the hot favorite to clinch the title and third WTA title of her career.
