Serbian player, Janko Tipsarevic will be taking on the former No.3 player, Nikolay Davydenko to book a place in the final four of the 2011 Malaysian Open.
Serbian world No.17, Janko Tipsarevic will be squaring off with Russian world No.36, Nikolay Davydenko in the quarterfinals of the 2011 Malaysian Open on Friday, September 30, 2011 at 12:00 GMT in the ATP-250 event, which is being held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The head to head between both the players have clashed in the two-matches in the past, as the Russian former No.3, Davydenko is leading the contest with 2-0 against the Serbian. However, the previous encounter between both of them was in 2008 Miami Master, as Davydenko has knocked out Tipsarevic in straight sets with 6-2 6-1.
Serbian Davis Cup hero in the 2010 edition of Davis Cup semifinals, Janko Tipsarevic is hoping to repeat the success at the prestigious team event with another set of victories against the feisty Argentines. Tipsarevic had an impressive run to the quarterfinals at the US Open last week which resulted in a remarkable rise in his rankings to No.13 now. Despite reacing the finals of four ATP events, Tipsarevic hasn’t tasted success all the way.
Nikolay Davydenko, who holds World No. 36th position in the ATP Rankings, he has been struggling to play well against tough opponents. However, the former No.3 has won a title this season with a win-loss record of 20-20 in 2011.
Fifth seeded, Davydenko has knocked out the Poland star, Lukasz Kubot in straight sets with a score line of 6-3 7-6(2).
As per the predictions it would be thrilling encounter between both the players, as the Former No.3 is favourite clinch a victory.
