The World No. 1 ranked Caroline Wozniacki, who has not won a single Grand Slam tournament, as she holds the top position for consecutive 49 weeks in the WTA Rankings.
The 21-year-old Wozniacki has made her best Grand Slam performance in US Open at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows Park in 2009. The four-time Grand Slam champion Kim Clijsters of Belgium has overcome against Wozniacki in the final in consecutive sets with a 7–5 and 6–3.
The Danish lady has played better tennis this season, where she has lost in the semi final of the 2011 US Open to 13-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams of Untied States in two sets with a 6-2 and 6-4. She also appeared in the semi final of the Australian Open and fourth round of Wimbledon this year. Wozniacki, who has made early exit from the 2011 Toray Pan Pacific Open, as she fell to Kaia Kanepi of Spain three sets with a 5-7, 6-1 and 4-6.
Wozniacki has clinched her 18th WTA title at 2011 New Haven Open at Yale, after overcome against Petra Cetkovska of Czech Republic in two straight sets with a 6-4 and 6-1. The Danish star hopes to win a major title next year at Australian Open in January, where holds No. 1 position with 9335 points follows by Russian star Maria Sharapova with 6226 in the ATP Rankings.
