Novak Djokovic was unbeatable in 2011 still continuing the form further, the only match he lost in this year was to the 16-time Grand Slam Champion Roger Federer, however he lost to Andy Murray at ATP Masters Series Western & Southern Financial Group Masters, but it wasn’t a straight loss but Djokovic had to retire due to an injury.
Roger-Djokovic have met 23 times, with Federer winning 14 to Djokovic’s nine, but in the past two years it’s a much closer 5-4 to the Swiss and in 2011 it’s 3-1 to Djokovic with only one defeat on the red clay at Roland Garros French open.
Novak Djokovic battled back from two sets down to beat Roger Federer in the US Open semi-finals with 6-7, 4-6, 6-3, 6-2, 7-5 in three hours and 51 minutes to reach the Finals. In the finals it was World No 1 and 2. Rafael Nadal and Djokovic, Nadal beat Andy Murray in the 2nd Semi Final where Nadal managed to get a win by the score line of 6-4, 6-2, 3-6, 6-2. But in the final it was again the Serb who beat Nadal 6-2, 6-4, 6-7, 6-1 and it was for the sixth time in six finals this year to take the Spaniard’s US Open title in a match.
Djokovic is, increasingly, the man to beat because of his outstanding performance since last year. He’s reached six successive grand-slam semis, and three of the last four finals, winning three of them.
So who’s it going to be in 2012 with better game in terms of Grass Court, Red Clay and Hard court, Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer or would it be turn of the Andy Murray.
