The Serbian and the world No.1, Novak Djokovic seals his third successive grand slam title this season on Monday by clinching his first ever US Open grand slam title beating the defending champion, Rafael Nadal in Flushing Meadows, New York.In the Monday’s 2011 US Open finals, Novak Djokovic has thrashed out the world No.2 Spaniard, Rafael Nadal in a four set thriller with a score line of 6-2, 6-4, 6-7(3), 6-1 to clinch his third grand slam title in four hours and 10 minutes of play.

In form men this season, Djokovic has made a superb start on Monday evening in the Arthur Ashe stadium clinching the first set with 6-2. Djokovic after losing his very second to Nadal has bounced back immediately knocks out the Spaniard in six straight games to take a 1-0 lead in the set-1.In Second set, Nadal tried to dominate by winning the first tow games against the Serbian. But, Djokovic once again showed his top class performance against the king of clay leveling the set with 4-4 and later broke the serve of Nadal and wrap-up second set with 6-4.

In the third Set, defending champion, Nadal gave a strong challenge to the Serbian world No.1 taking the third set to tie-break and then he went on to win 7 points to 3 to stop Djokovic to clinch the title with 6-7(3).Fourth set has been a complete one man show with the in-form men this season; Djokovic has showed a rock solid performance to the King of clay to take his third grand tile with 6-1. Djokovic hit a total of whopping 55 winners in the entire match to Nadal’s 32 but also committed 51 unforced errors that resulted in so much of struggle.

World No.1, Novak Djokovic will keep his ATP ranking secured until the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals and collected the winner’s check of a US$ 2.3 million that included a bonus of US$ 500,000 for finishing runner up at the Olympus US Open series.
