The top seeds at the 2011 US Open tournament Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal are the hot favorites to lift the title at Flushing Meadows and both players are likely to meet in the final of the American Grand Slam at Flushing Meadows this month.
The World No. 1 ranked Novak Djokovic has been dominating the men’s tennis from the 2011 Australian Open, where he has bagged eight titles so far in this season including two Grand Slams and 6 ATP World Tour titles. Djokovic is the second rivalry to Nadal in his career, after 16-time Grand Slam winner Roger Federer. Nadal and Djokovic have struggled with injures, before heading into US Open, but both the players are looking healthy and fully fit at the moment.
The 2011 French Open champion Nadal, who hurt in the 2011 Wimbledon at All England Club to his foot and recently, burns his fingers at in Japanese steakhouse. Nadal will play his second round match against Frenchman Nicolas Mahut on Friday at Arthur Ashe Stadium. Nadal has suffered a stunning defeat by the Djokovic in the 2011 Wimbledon final in four sets with a 6–4, 6–1, 1–6 and 6–3.
The pair is likely to meet against in the 2011 US Open tournament this year, where Djokovic is looking huge favorite to win the hard court Grand Slam crown for the first time in his career. The 2011 Wimbledon winner Djokovic will meet Russian Nikolay Davydenko in the third round of the US Open on Sunday at Flushing Meadows.
