13 times grand slam winner, Serena Williams will be squaring off with the Serbian, Bojana Jovanovski to secure her place in the second round of the 2011 US Open.Three times US Open Champion; Serena Williams will be battling in her opening round against Bojana Jovanovski in the first round of the 2011 US Open Champion on Monday, August 30, 2011 at 23:10 GMT, in the final grand slam tournament, which is being held in at Flushing Meadows, New York.

This will be first tournament against each other, as the three times champ is a huge player to win the first round encounter against the Serbian, Jovanovski.Three times winner at US Open, Serena Williams is seeded 28 in the 2011 US Open. The American player, who was injured on July 7, 2010, has stepped on broken glass in a restaurant. She has received 18 stitches, due to which, Serena was out of the 2010 US Open.

However, the former world No.1, Serena was back to defend her title this year at Wimbledon and was defeated in the fourth round. Later, Serena showed her aggressiveness on the tennis court in US Open warm season, where, she has back to back to titles on Stanford and Roger’s cup.At Cincinnati Open, Serena defeated Lucie Hradecka 6-3, 7-5. The next day, she withdrew from the tournament citing a right toe injury.

World No.28, Serena after winning her 38th title in WTA at Roger’s cup has got a win-loss record of 16-2 in 2011 and is considered as a huge favourite to clinch the US Open 2011.Serbian world No.52, Bojana Jovanovski has a disappointing season, so far this year. She has been thrashed out in the first round of the tournament and has got a win-loss record of 28-20 in 2011. Last year, she was defeated in first round of the US Open.

As per the predictions, it would be straight sets victory for the 13-times grand slam winner, Serena Williams.
