"Jelena Jankovic vs Alison Risk" Serbian former No.1 player, Jelena Jankovic and Ana Ivanovic will be battling against their competitors to secure their place in the second round of the 2011 US Open.

World No.11, Jelena Jankovic will be facing the American qualifier, Alison Riske in the first round of the 2011 US Open Champion on Monday, August 30, 2011 at 18:00 GMT, in the final grand slam tournament, which is being held in at Flushing Meadows, New York.

This will be first head to head tournament against each other, as the Serbian former world No.1 is a favourite to win the first round encounter in the 2011 US Open.

2008 US Open finalist, Jelena Jankovic has got a win-loss record of 32-16 this year and is aiming for her First WTA title in 2011. She was the finalist in the last week’s Cincinnati Masters, where she was thrashed out against Maria Sharapova.

American world No.117, Alison Riske has been knocked out in first rounds of the ATP tournaments this season. She has got a win-loss record of 22-21 in 2011.

Ana Ivanovic will be taking in her first round encounter against Russia world No.52, Ksenia Pervak in the 2011 US Open Champion on Monday, August 30, 2011 at 23:10 GMT, in the final grand slam tournament, which is being held in at Flushing Meadows, New York.

Former No.1, Ana Ivanovic had a disappointing run this season, as the Serbian has yet make title defense this season in 2011 with a win-loss record 21-16. She has been thrashed out in the first rounds of the grand slam tournaments and her best this season was in semi-final at Birmingham.

Ksenia Pervak has not won any title on tour yet – in her career. The Russian is ranked 52 in the world. Pervak has a poor 30-20 win-loss record this year. After losing the opening round at Aussie Open, Pervak reached the quarter-final at Memphis. Her best performance in grand slam has come this season in Wimbledon, where she reached the fourth-round.
