World No. 17, Stanislas Wawrinka will be facing quarterfinals clash against the Spaniard world No.45, Marcel Granollers in the quarterfinals of the 2011 Allianz Suisse Open on Friday, 29th July, 2011 at 11:30 GMT, which is an ATP World 250 Event, which is being held in Gstaad.
The head to head between both the players have clashed in tow matches in the past, as both the player have leveled their record of 1-1 and the previous encounter between them was in the Miami Masters 2011, as the Spaniard world No.45, Granollers has thrashed out the world No.17 Swiss player, Stanislas Wawrinka in three set thriller with a score line of 6-0 6-7(4) 6-3.
The Swiss world No.17, Wawrinka has started with a title win in Chennai and a quarterfinal spot at the Australian Open and later he has entered into quarterfinals and semifinals. However, his grand slam run this season at French Open and Wimbledon was disappointing with early exits. The Swiss player has a win-loss record of 25-11 this season with three ATP titles under his career.
Spaniard world No.45, Marcel Granollers is making his third appearance in an ATP World Tour quarter-final this season. In May, he was a quarter-finalist in Belgrade and two weeks ago in Stuttgart, losing to eventual champion Juan Carlos Ferrero. The Spaniard having one ATP title in his career has a win-loss record of 12-18 in 2011.
