It will be all Spanish quarterfinals battle between the top seeded players in tournament, Nicolas Almagro and Feliciano Lopez to enter into the final four of the 2011 Allianz Suisse Open.
Spaniard world No.10, Nicolas Almagro will be battling against his fellow country men, Feliciano Lopez in the quarterfinals of the 2011 Allianz Suisse Open on Friday, 29th July, 2011 at 14:30 GMT, which is an ATP World 250 Event, which is being held in Gstaad. It will be all Spanish encounters in the second round of the Gstaad Open.
It was in the year 2005 Barcelona ATP Open, when both the players have clashed between each other, as Feliciano Lopez has thrashed out the top seeded player in the tournament, Nicolas Almagro in straight sets with a score line of 6-4 6-2.
Top seeded player, Nicolas Almagro has suffered a bit of disappointment at the weekend finals against Gilles Simon, which has denied him to win his fourth clay-court title of the year in Hamburg. It’s been a strong year for Almagro overall though, as he has been in five ATP finals and briefly cracked the top ten for the first time in his career.
Almagro is leading the ATP World Tour with a 30-8 clay court record and has captured three titles this year. He is having a win-loss record of 39-14 in 2011.
World No.24, Lopez has shown a marvellous performance this season having 24-17 win –loss record in 2011. He has played a huge role along with David Ferrer in the world group quarterfinal-tie against United Stated in the Davis cup contest. He has thrashed out American top seeds, Mardy Fish and Andy Roddick to enter into semi-finals of the Davis cup. Lopez still aiming for first ATP title victory this season and was a finalist in the Serbia open.
