The World No. 32 ranked Nadia Petrova of Russian and Bojana Jovanovski of Serbia will clash in the quarter final of the Citi Open tournament on 30th July, 2011 at 00:00 GMT on Saturday.
The Russian star Petrova has defeated Eugenie Bouchard of Canada with a 6-2 and 6-2 in the second round of the Citi Open tournament, being played at the Tennis Center at College Park in Maryland. Petrova has made just 56 per cent of her first serves in the second round. The 29-year-old Petrova is having the most of the opportunities’ to reach the tournament semi finals.
The 19-year-old Bojana Jovanovski has overcome against American Jill Craybas in three sets with a 6-4, 5-7 and 6-4 in the second round and outlasted Petra Rampre of Slovakia with a 6-0 and 6-2 to win the first round match in the Citi Open event. Petrova is having 12-14 win loss record in this season, as she is one of the huge favorite to lift the crown at Citi Open.
Petrova and Jovanovski are playing for the first time in career, but Petrova is looking hot favorite to win and move into Citi Open tournament semi finals on Saturday. In the other quarter finals matches, Shahar Peer of Israel will face Alberta Brianti of Italy; Virginie Razzano of France will clash against American Irina Falconi and Tamira Paszek to meet Stephanie Dubois on Friday at Washington.
