France world No.9, Gael Monfils is the top seeded player of the Hamburg open, after his first-round defeat at the Mercedes Cup in Stuttgart. The French men will be leading 48 players in Hamburg, Germany.
French men, Monfils with a successful season this year will be playing in the clay court tournament this season. The top seeded French Player; Gael Monfils is top seeded player in the Hamburg Open of ATP World Tour 250 Event, which will be held from Monday from July 16th to 24th in Germany.
The top seeded player of the tournament has got a bye in the first and has got a win-loss record of 19-8 overall for the 2011 season.
Last week, Monfils was defeated in the first round of the Mercedes Cup tournament. The 24-year-old held match points against veteran Victor Hanescu, but was unable to close the opening-round match.
The other seeded player in the Hamburg open are Mikhail Youzhny, Gilles Simon, Juan Ignacio Chela, Alexandr Dolgopolov, Marin Cilic, Andreas Seppi and Guillermo Garcia-Lopez.
Additional challengers in the section are Radek Stepanek, Jarkko Nieminen, Santiago Giraldo, Sergiy Stakhovsky, Robin Haase and Denis Istomin.
After a first-round bye, Monfils is scheduled play his second round encounter aganist Adrian Mannarino or qualifier Albert Ramos in the Hamburg Open.
