Sara Errani is the third germ for this week’s WTA Palermo Open, and she will take a position out as a major contender for the title. The Italian ought to prove to be a difficult opponent on home ground, and she is played quite well of late.
If she is at her best form this week, Sara Errani has as good a chance as anyone here.
Errani’s first round opponent this week will be Regina Kulikova (World No. 191). Kulikova has a 7-9 match record for the season, and does not emerge to be much of a threat to Errani’s title campaign.
Unless, she can somehow work-hard her way into this challenge, Kulikova seems to be expected expel in straight sets on Tuesday.
If Sara wins through here, she should be in a superb position to make a lengthy run this week. She is in the same half of the draw, as second seed and compatriot Roberta Vinci though, so she is got plenty of work to do if she is to settle what would be a third career title here.
Sara Errani has reached a new career high of World No. 31 on the Tour rankings and she won her 2 WTA titles within 2 weeks, and also has 2 ITF titles.
In February 13, 2011, she reached the PTT Pattaya Open title finals on the hard soil, where she was defeated by Daniela Hantuchová with 6–0, 6–2 points at Pattaya City, Thailand.
