The world No.1 Denmark player, Caroline Wozniacki has been out of the Swedish Open 2011, due to a shoulder injury.
Wozniacki has clashed in her second round encounter on Wednesday, 6th July, 2011 in the Swedish Open against Sofia Arvidsson. However, the top seeded player in the tournament was leading in the first set against the local player with a score line of 6-2.
In the second set, top seeded player was forced to quit, because of a shoulder injury.
The local player won the first game of the second set.
Flavia Pennetta, the second seeded player of the tournament has also advanced in the Swedish Open after defeating Angelique Kerber of Germany 6-2, 6-3. Flavia Pennetta will be facing the seventh seeded player of the tournament, Barbora Zahlavova Strycova of the Czech Republic.
Polona Hercog (Eighth-seeded) of Slovenia has defeated the defending champion Aravane Rezai of France with a score line of 3-6, 6-4, 7-6 (4), while the fourth seeded player, Lourdes Dominguez Lino has thrashed out Arantxa Parra Santonja 7-5, 6-1 in an all-Spanish match.
