The previous encounter came on Nadal favourite surface on Clay, as the Serbian world No.2 has defeated the king of clay in Rome masters with a score line of 6-4 6-4.

Novak Djokovic has been the most successful player of 2011 so far. His 43 games winning streak including seven titles – says a lot about Djokovic’s surge in the new season. The Serbian was stopped by in-form Federer at Roland Garros, when he was only a match shy of equaling John McEnroe’s record of 42 consecutive wins in a season.

The Serbian has beaten all three of his main rivals in 2011, including back-to-back wins against the mighty Nadal on clay in Madrid and then Rome. So it would be interesting to see the world No.2 facing the defending champion.

Novak Djokovic entered this year’s championship without a single grass court match and has reached the finals of the Wimbledon 2011.
