The 16-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer believes he can still win a Grand Slam championship, where he is going to turn 30 old on August 8th.
The former World No. 1 Federer has been defeated in the quarter final at Wimbledon by the Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga with a 3-6, 6-7 (3/7), 6-4, 6-4 and 6-4 on Wednesday. Federer had failed to make to equal American’s Pete Sampras’s seven Wimbledon titles record. The Swiss star said that, he can definitely win a major championship again.
The 29-year-old Federer said that, he has been playing well, but it’s unfortunate to loss the quarter final match against Tsonga at Wimbledon. He added he is going to work hard than ever and expect to return back into the form for Davis Cup next week and US Open in the summer.
It was the first time ever in the Grand Slam, where Federer has lost a match after winning two sets against his opponent. The Swiss star has won Wimbledon title in 2009, thrashing Andy Roddick in a five set epic.
Federer said that, Tsonga had played an amazing match, as his performance at Wimbledon improved a lot. He added it was his second bad match played in this season.
