The world No. 1 seeded Rafael Nadal wants to equal the Roger Federer’s Grand Slam’s haul, which is the record of 16 Wimbledon titles.
Nadal said that, reaching his rival Federer’s record of 16 Grand Slams remained as a dream in his career. Nadal has won his 10th Grand Slam title few days back at Roland Garros, where he on the three Grand Slams Australian Open, US Open and French Open in 2010. He is focusing to win the 11th major at Wimbledon.
After the victory at the All England Club would see Nadal along with Bjorn Borg and Rod Laver in all time standings, ahead of Roy Emerson with 12 titles, Pete Sampras with 14 crowns and Roger Federer with 16 majors. He is very far from the Federer’s record, but his dream to achieve that mark in his career says Nadal.
Nadal is going to play against Michael Russell of United States in the opening round of the Wimbledon 2011 at centre court here in London on Monday. Nadal said he is happy with his performance in the last year, where he won three Grand Slam titles in a row, definitely wants to repeat in 2011. The 25-year-old Nadal will remain as World No. 1 in the ATP Rankings, if he won the Wimbledon event.
