Roger Federer in his quarter finals encounter will be clashing with the French men, Gael Monfils which is being held at Roland Garros in Paris. The winner’s of today’s Quarter’s match between Roger Federer Vs Gael Monfils will be clashing against the undefeated world No.2, Novak Djokovic in the Semifinals of the Roland Garros tournament.

The Swiss Maestro will be battling the local Gael Monfils on Tuesday, 31st May, 2011 at 14:00 GMT in the quarterfinals of the 2011 French Open tournament in Paris.

The world No.3 player will be playing his 28th quarterfinal-match in grand slam tournaments.

The 16 time grand slam winner had a prefect start this year in the Roland Garros tournament this year, as he has not lost even a single set, since the start of the competition at Paris. Federer, the Favourite in this match will be aiming for Semi’s berth to face Djokovic for the second time this season at Grand Slam Tournaments.

While the local guy, Gael Monfils has got a huge support playing in front of his home crowd, he has booked quarter-finals by winning a five-set thriller against of David Ferrer with a score line 6-4, 2-6, 7-5, 1-6, 8-6. The Frenchman remains an outsider in this tournament but will be eager to rise to the occasion in front of a supportive Roland Garros crowd.

The head to head encounter between both the players is leading with the top seeded Swiss with 5-1 against each other. The previous encounter between both of them was in 2010, where Monfils has defeated Federer in a three set match 7-6(7) 6-7(1) 7-6(4) in his home place at France.

Federer being the Favourite to win the match will be getting a tough challenge form the local player, Gael Monfils.
