Roger Federer, the Swiss maestro winning 16 grand titles in his career is the only active player playing 46th consecutive Grand Slam games and still at his best at an age of 29.
The world No.3, Roger Federer after beating Maxime Teixeira 6-3, 6-0, 6-2 Wednesday in the third round encounter, Federer has completed his 46 grand slam appearance. He is the first player in the present era in both men and Women to play consecutive grand slams and is third in the open era behind Wayne Ferreira (56) and Stefan Edberg (54).
The Swiss No.3 player is now 29 and is likely to play for another three to four year. However, he is the best fitness players in the world and does everything on the court.
Federer has shown up at every Grand Slam event since the 2000 Australian Open and will be playing 245th match in his third round encounter of the 2011 French Open.
The Swiss aiming for his second title at the French Open started off well at the Roland Garros by winning first two rounds matches in straight sets and he will be clashing in his third round encounter against the world No.29, Janko Tipsarevic.
Federer this was successful against all the players expect the top two, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic. So it would be interesting to watch the Swiss No.3 facing them in the semifinals and finals of the 2011 French Open.
