Amelie Mauresmo, the former world No.1 player is out of the 2011 French Open doubles tournament. The two time grand slam winner will be out of because of the doping rules that apply to players coming out of retirement.
The French player, who has taken her retirement in the year 2009, has been out of the doubles tournament in Roland Garros at Paris. The former top ranked player in women’s had intended to compete in the French Open doubles tournament with fellow Frenchman Michael Llodra, after they were granted a last-minute wild card.
However, the tournament officials at Roland Garros have been indicated by the French Tennis Federation, that the former No.1, Mauresmo is no allowed to play the doubles, as she is no longer in the sport’s anti-doping program.
The French No.1 has won tow grand slam titles in her career in the same calendar year in 2006. She has won the Australian Open and Wimbledon in 2006 and was ranked world NO.1 for a period of five weeks. She along with the Fellow French men, Michael Llodra has won the doubles title in 2007 at Wimbledon.
Mauresmo never won Roland Garros, where she struggled to withstand the pressure in front of her home crowd and her best performance at the French Open was in 2003 & 2004, where she has reached till quarterfinals of the Roland Garros.
