The world No. 8 ranked Samantha Stosur of Australia is eagerly waiting to play in the French Open 2011 event.
The 27-year-old Stosur had played well in 2011, where she has won Charleston event and entered into the Stuttgart finals. The world No. 7 ranked Sharapova has defeated Stosur in the Rome Masters finals with a 6-2 and 6-4. In 2010, Stosur has made five quarter-final appearances and in two finals.
Rome Masters was her first final in this season, since losing to Francesca Schiavone in the finals of the 2010 French Open at Roland Garros. Stosur is has won 9 matches out of 12 so far on clay court in this season. She fell to Sharapova in Rome Masters, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in Madrid and Julia Goerges in Stuttgart Open.
The Australian star has defeated three top six players in the last three tournaments Francesca Schiavone, Na Li and Vera Zvonareva, but she has slips to No. 8 position in the WTA Rankings. Stosur will be out of top 10 WTA Rankings, if she fails to make the second week at Roland Garros in Paris.
In the women draw Samantha Stosur, Julia Georges, Victoria Azarenka and Maria Sharapova will be favorites at Roland Garros as players to watch.
