Serena Williams finally pulled out of the 2011 Roland Garros or French Open 2011, which is scheduled to be held in Paris from May 17th to June 5th, 2011. The American former world No.1 took the decisions as she is still recovering form her injury.

The 13-time grand slam winner, who has won the French Open in 2001, has been out of tennis from the last ten months, due to two foot operations and blood clots in her lungs. The top seeded player was out of tennis after winning her Wimbledon title in 2010.

Last the American world No.14 has returned to practice and on Thursday, she said that, she aims to back in tennis tour this summer. Williams has also stated, she is making a good progress and unfortunately, she still could not able to recover and reported that, she will be out of Roland Garros later this next week and she is continuing to rehab her foot and recover form the pulmonary embolism.

Williams said in a statement emailed by her agent, she is grateful for every moment and the fact that, she will return to the court hopeful and will be back competing this summer. Thank you all for your continued prayers.
