Roger Federer, the Swiss Maestro and the world no.3 player, has started his preparation for the up-coming clay court season. Federer started his clay training with a hit against Frenchman Richard Gasquet prior to Sunday’s start of the Monte Carlo Masters 2011.
Federer, the world no.3, was defeated in the semi-finals of the Sony Ericsson Open 2011 against the world no.1, Rafael Nadal with a 6-3 6-2, earlier last week. Federer was a late entry into the optional tournament, deciding only a few weeks ago to start-up his clay campaign during the first week of the European muck season.
Federer, the Swiss no.3 has celebrated his wife, Mirka’s birthday in style with a grand dinner and later thrashed out in his semi-finals match against the Spaniard, Nadal. After his defeat, he flew directly from Miami to the south of France and is now preparing for the up-coming clay court tournament, Monte Carlo Masters.
Federer was defeated thrice (2006-2008) in the finals of the Monte Carlo Masters against Nadal. He is now starting up fresh, as he begins his preparation for the French Open Grand slam.
Federer, after his defeat in Miami said that, he is the last guy, who gets pulled all the way down by a loss and then can’t get up for the next tournament and stated that, he is very excited about Monaco and started his preparation as well for the clay court season. It’s a big swing coming up now in Europe, so that’s the mindset and said that, he wanted to do well in the clay court season.
