Novak Djokovic, the top seeded player in the tournament, who is unbeatable through out the season is has choked off his Kevin Anderson late Wednesday, 31st, March 31, 2011 in the pre-quarter finals of the 2011 Sony Ericsson Open on Grandstand.
Novak Djokovic, the world no.3 has a winning streak of 22-0 this year after his victory against the South African, Anderson in straight sets with a 6-4 6-2. The Serbian who is in unattainable this season is looking out in a great form; Novak Djokovic has won in straight sets in all his first round matches.
Djokovic led 2-1 in the opening set, after Anderson gifted a double fault. Three set points came in short order for the World No. 2, who closed the set on a forehand miss from the South African.
Djokovic broke serve at 1-1 in set two, courtesy of a well-place forehand strike. A drop shot winner gave the 23-year-old an insurance break to 5-2. After missing his first match point, Djokovic completed the match with a volley winner. The World No.2 finished his effort with 6 aces and 34 of 42 first-service points captured.
The Serbian, who has been advanced into the semi-finals of the 2011 Sony Ericsson Open, will play against the American Player, Mardy Fish to place his position in the finals. Mardy Fish, the American No.1 player, has defeated the Spaniard and the world no.6, David Ferrer in the quarter-finals with 7-5 6-2 to book his position in final four of the tournament. However, Fish has to keep all his efforts against the world no.2, in the semi-finals encounter.
The top seeded player, Novak Djokovic is leading with 6-0 against Fish in their head to head matches. The previous stumble in 2010 between both of them has been washed off.
