Roger Federer into Final Eight Beating Olivier Rochus

Roger Federer, the top seeded player in the tournament, moved swiftly into the final eight of the Sony Ericsson Open 2011, easing past Olivier Rochus on Wednesday, 30th March, 2011 in Miami Masters.

The world no.3 Roger Federer, who faced Oliver Rochus in the final sixteen of the tournament on Wednesday morning at 12:37 a.m. EST, has shown a marvelous effort in order to get rid of the qualifier and the world no.89 with 6-3 6-1 needing just 52 minutes to enter into the quarter finals of the Sony Ericsson Open 2011.

The two time champion in the Miami Masters, Federer has said that, it has happened a few times in career, where we waited around forever and this was one of the clean and quick matches, which he played against Rochus and stated that he was really able to hit freely tonight and play with great variation, and made Rochus to kept him guessing every time to night today and says that he just did not allow the Belgian to play because he was playing too offensive against him.

A two-time Sony Ericsson Open champion, Federer has an overall record of 8-0 against the Belgian, Rochus.

Federer, the Swiss maestro will be playing his quarter-finals match against the world no.25, Gilles Simon, the Frenchman rallied from a set down for the second consecutive day, outlasting Serbian Janko Tipsarevic 4-6, 7-6(2), 6-2 in a fourth round battle.

It would be a typical task for the world no.3 player in his quarter-finals match, as he has already been thrashed out by the French man, Gilles Simon twice in their three meetings at various tournaments.
