Kim Clijsters won the game against Ana Ivanovic in Sony Ericsson Open 2011 on Tuesday 29th March, 2011 at Miami in United States.
The two times champion Belgian superstar Kim Clijsters defeated Serbian Ana Ivanovic for a place in the quarter-finals of the 2011 Sony Ericsson Open at Miami in Florida. Both the players have met three times; previously they met in New York in 2010 to reach the quarter-finals of the US open. She won the game by 6-2, 6-1. The world number two seed, Clijsters came through with five match points to beat Ana Ivanovic with 7-6, 3-6, 7-6 to keep alive in Sony Ericsson Open 2011.
Serbian Ana Ivanovic failed to convert four match points and she wasted another chance at 5-3 before losing the deciding tie break. Kim Clijsters said that Ivanovic played well with flat backhand and a forehand, she hit with more top spin. Defending champion Kim Clijsters overcame nerves before reaching fourth round of the Sony Ericsson Open 2011. Now, Clijsters recorded 500 wins with 117 loses in her overall career.
Kim Clijsters will play against Belarus’s Victoria Azarenka in quarter-final of 2011 Sony Ericsson Open on 30th March, 2011. Ana Ivanovic feels very sad; she broke her racket and cried a little bit.
