Kim Clijsters Takes on Victoria Azarenka in Sony Ericsson Open 2011

The Defending Champion Kim Clijsters will meet Victoria Azarenka in the quarter-finals of the Sony Ericsson Open 2011.

Kim returned back from the edge of defeat as she saved five match points in order to defeat Ana Ivanovic in the Sony Ericsson Open 2011 in Miami. The second seed Kim Clijsters has reached the 4th round with 7-6 (7/4), 3-6 and 7-6 (7/5) success. But she looked like going out at 5-1 behind and then 0-40 on her own serve in deciding the set.

She came way back into the set just before edging the tie break against her Serbian opponent. She thinks that because she have been on the tour for many years and the one has to realize to keep trying until the last point is played.

The 21 seed Petkovic defeated Serbian Jelena Jankovic for 2-6 6-2 6-4 after getting victory over the World No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki. Petkovic stated that she always believe that she can beat those top players. She added that it is always just a matter of time.

Getting the records of the past games between the two, Clijsters won 3 games in the hard court one game in indoor hard court where as, Azarenka won only one game in grass court during 2010. The two met each other at the Sony Ericsson Open Miami 2010 March in round 4 where Clijsters defeated Azaraka with 6-4 6-0.
