Andy Roddick, the American no.1 player is aiming for a record fifth title in the AEGON Championships which is being held at Queen’s Club, London from 6th-12th June, 2011.
Andy Roddick, who is aiming to become the first tennis men in history to win five titles at The Queen’s Club, earlier Roddick has won the AEGON Championships consecutively in 2003,2004 and 2005, after that the last time he won the title at Queen’s club was in the year 2007.
Roddick has now committed to compete against Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic at the AEGON Championships this year to win his fifth title.
Along with Roddick a handful of players have won the title four times since the event was first played in 1890. John McEnroe, Boris Becker, Lleyton Hewitt, Roy Emerson, Josiah Ritchie and Anthony Wilding, are the others.
Roddick said that, earlier in the past, he had a lot of success at The Queenss Club and he love the whole month in London and says that Queens club has the best grass courts in the world, they play perfectly and so the AEGON Championships is the best tournament to prepare for Wimbledon.
Roddick, the wolrd no.9 player, who has won the US Open, has only one grand slam in his career and his demonstrating performance in the UK has got a huge fan following heart-breaking 16-14 final-set loss in the 2009 final was particularly brilliant. Andy Roddick has lost three Wimbledon finals in his career.
