The oldest and the most prestigious tennis tournament in the world, Wimbledon is being held every year at the All England Club in the London suburb of Wimbledon since 1877, for the first time, being show in 3D at hundreds of cinemas around the world.
The Ladies’ Singles Finals and the Men’s Singles Semi Finals and Finals will be screened in High Definition 3D at hundreds of cinemas around the world following a contract announced between Sony and the All England Lawn Tennis Club.
The chief executive of the All England Club, Ian Ritchie has announced on Monday that the club has agreed a contract with Sony to show the oldest tournament in 3 D all across the world.
Ian Ritchie has said that, Wimbledon is prominent for its tradition and intelligence and the club is always looking for ways to improve the presentation of The Championships.
Fujio Nishida, the president of Sony has said in a statement that, watching tennis in High Definition 3D is a spectacular experience, bringing the speed of the action and the emotions of the occasion to life; it is as close to the atmosphere and excitement of center court as actually being there
So stay tuned for semifinals and finals of Wimbledon event this year, which is going to be viewed for the first time in the history of tennis on 3D-sccrens all across the world in the coming Wimbledon.
