Roger Federer, the Swiss player and the former world no.1, has won 16-Grnad Slam titles more than any man in history of tennis, discloses his interest on various sports.
Federer while speaking with various sources, after his quarterfinals match against Sergiy Stakhovsky said that, he loves playing various sports like skiing, soccer, squash, golf and ping pong. However, he has given up playing all the other sports except table tennis. He allows himself playing table-tennis in order to avoid the injuries, which will doesn’t affect his tennis career.
Federer said that, he has banned playing the sports like skiing, soccer, squash and golf, which will cause for an injury. He last skied three years ago, after the completion of the Australian Open; he went for skiing and the day after he was ill and stopped going for skiing.
And he said that, he has not played a lot of soccer, however, when he was suffering with groin issue in Wimbledon. He went to play soccer that whole week as well and couldn’t move at the end and the same with squash as well.
Federer said that he recently played a round of golf, during the occasion of his mother’s birthday at Emirates Golf Course. It was nice playing Golf, but the same thing has happened and the back hurts just a little bit.
The world no.2 says that, his body is accumulated in playing tennis and will be waiting for many more years until he plays all the other sports really well.
