Novak Djokovic has continued his winning streak in the Dubai Open. . Djokovic has won 12- consecutive victory at the Dubai Open beating Florian Mayer of Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships on Thursday, 24th February, 2011.
The Serbian and the world no.3, Novak Djokovic has defeated the German player, Florian Mayer by 7-5 6-4 in the quarter finals of the Dubai Open.
Florian Mayer, the French man, has dominated in the first set of the game taking a lead of 5-3 against the defending champion, Djokovic and came to close the set out at 5-4. However, due to full of doubts and mistakes by Mayer, the top seeded player came back strongly into the game and took the game away from the French man, Mayer by taking a lead of 6-5.
A time came when; Mayer had to serve to save the set, at 5-6. Djokovic has extending his comeback to a winning streak of eleven games out of twelve and won the second set by 6-4.
Djokovic will play his semi-finals against Tomas Berdych in a rematch of their Australian Open quarterfinal. Thomas Berdych defeated Philipp Petzschner of Germany 7-5, 6-4 on Thursday to set up clash with the defending champion.
Novak Djokovic while speaking with the various sources has said that Djokovic said. Berdych is playing really and he is a consistent player right now. He has a very powerful serve, very fast baseline strokes, very flat. And said that he might have to be patient and wait for my chances.
