Kim Clijsters, the world no.2 and the 2010 us open champion, had a fantastic tournament throughout the Australian open. In the finals Clijsters showed a fighting performance against the Na Li, the world no.9 to win the first major grand slam of the year, Australian open.
Kim Clijsters, the Belgium star, showed a marvelous performance thought out the tournament without even losing a single set. However on Saturday, Clijsters lost her first set in the finals against Na Li by 3-6 in the first 38 minutes of play.
However, the world no.2 players, Clijsters fought back by winning the second set and third set by showing a stunning performance to the audience at the Melbourne Park over Li with a 3-6 6-3 6-3 score line to clinch the title.
Clijsters ended the game in 2 hour and 5 minutes, as she mustered 65% points on her first serve and hammered 22 winners. At the same point, Clijsters only stanched 26 unforced errors, as compared to 40 by Li to make it easier for her in the end. Clijsters covered 7 out of 17 break points and earned 98 points in total.
Kim Clijsters, after winning the game, tears have rolled down her cheeks as the Belgian superstar claimed her first ever non-American Grand Slam title, seven years later her first final appearance in Melbourne Final.
