Andy Murray clashes with David Ferrer in the second semi finals of the Australian open. The live kick off between Roger Federer vs Novak Djokovic will begin at 7:30 PM on 28 January, 2011 in the semifinals of the Australian open at Rod Laver Arena.

Scores: Set 1 – David Ferrer ESP (7) – 3, Andy Murray GBR (5) – 2

This will be an exciting match of the tournament between the two players to battle for the final position, last year runner-up; Andy Murray and David Ferrer are the favorite players to win the title.

Andy Murray, the world No.3 player is in a blistering from the start of the season; Murray stands on an eight-match winning streak so far in the season and he has not lost even a single set in the first four rounds of the Australian open and in the quarter finals against Dolgopolov, he lost his first set in the Quarters finals. However, after a fighting four set thriller, the British no.1 defeated the Unseeded Ukrainian, Alexandr Dolgopolov by 7-5, 6-3, 6-7(3), 6-3.

David Ferrer, the world No.5 player had a fantastic start early in the season recapturing the title at the Heineken Open in Auckland two weeks ago has managed a straight set victory against the injured Nadal because the World No. 1 was not fully fit. However, the Spaniard will face the British no.1 player, Andy Murray in the semifinals of the Australian open.

The last year runner-up, Andy Murray will now face David Ferrer, the world no.5. The heads up between Andy Murray and David Ferrer have played 5 matches against each other. However, Ferrer, the Spaniard leads the career head to head by 3-2. On the other hand Murray enjoys a 2-0 lead on hard court.

The previous encounter between the two top players was in the round robin stage of the 2010 ATP World Tour Finals in London, where Murray defeated the Spaniard, Ferrer without losing a set. The score line was 6-2, 6-2.

The live match which is scheduled to take place at Melbourne Park, on 28 January, 2011 at 7:30pm, between Britain’s favorite Andy Murray and Spain’s number two, David Ferrer.
