Andy Murray, the world No.3 player has entered the semi-finals of the Australian Open beating Ukrainian Alexandr Dolgopolov with a forceful victory by 7-5, 6-3, 6-7 (3/7), 6-3.
This was one of the finest performances showed by the Ukrainian Alexandr Dolgopolov, on Wednesday the 22-years old Dolgopolov, showed massive fight against the British world no.1 and 5th seeded Andy Murry.
Dolgopolov, the debutant from Ukrainian, who took the coaching from his father Oleksandar, a former specialized player, until his late teens, but he is now mentored by Australia’s Jack Reader.
Even though Dolgopolov lost his semifinals match against Andy Murray at Melbourne Park, Dolgopolov, showed some brilliant performance in the Australian Open, where his ranking shoot up from 46 to 34 after putting together four wins on his Melbourne debut.
Dolgopolov played some fabulous games winning against some of top seeded players like former runner-up Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and fourth seed Robin Soderling before running.
“I’m really happy that I achieved some goals,” Dolgopolov said. “I had a goal to make the second week. I’m happy I could do it, even though it was against pretty strong guys.
Andy Murray, the world No.5 will face David Ferrer, world No.7 player in the semi-finals of the Australian open 2011. It will be an exciting match between Big Guns to clash for the Finals.
