Classic Tennis Tournament: Sharapova one of the most Glamour’s Tennis superstar arrived in Auckland for the ASB classic tennis tournament which will start from next week. Sharapova is one of the most famous tennis superstars surprised some of the passengers at Auckland airport while she was pushing her luggage. She was welcomed by Richard Palmer who is the tournament director.

The former WTA No.1, three times grand slam winner, Maria Sharapova is returning from a shoulder injury after a year ranked 18th in WTA, will be looking out for a good season in 2011, starting with the classic tennis tournament which will be held in New Zealand. This will be her first tournament at New Zealand.

Along with Sharapova 15 other players are participating in this event, the fellow Russians and a two time grand slam winner Svetlana Kuznetsova, and Dinara Safina, the former world No.1 player in WTA.

Sharapova posted on her Facebook page: ‘I hope everyone had a great Christmas. I had such a great day of great food and amazing presents and two really hard practices.’

‘We are leaving tonight for Auckland so I am really excited to start the season.’

Sharapova has also posted links of her new clothing and shoes but she did not admit any thing about her racquets after ending a ‘lifetime’ contract with Prince.
