Recently, Serena Williams regained her top spot in women’s tennis rankings and she also started the practice after surgery on her right foot. But, the organizers of Toray Pan Pacific Open have announced that, Serena Williams will not participate in the Pan Pacific Open tournament.
The organizers have broken the news on Thursday. Serena Williams has taken this decision because of the slow recovery after surgery on her right foot. Serena Williams cut her foot on broken glass at a restaurant after winning Wimbledon this year.
Earlier this month, Serena Williams returned to practice with new pair of shoes, specially designed for her to recover early after the surgery.
Pan Pacific Open will begin from September 26th and it will end on October 2nd at Ariake Tennis Forest Park. Defending champion Maria Sharapova, Wimbledon runner-up Vera Zvonarev, Francesca Schiavone, Caroline Wozniacki and Jelena Jankovic are also participating in the tournament.
