On Saturday, two American players, Sam Querrey and Wayne Odesnik are going to fight in the US Men’s Clay Court Championship match at Stadium Court.

Wayne Odesnik career-high in singles was # 77, as of April 13, 2009. Among his biggest upsets were a 2007 win over world # 11 Ivan Ljubičić, and a 2009 win against world # 36 Igor Kunitsyn.

Odesnik won his first futures title in 2003, and has won a combined 9 singles titles in Challenger and Future ITF Men’s Circuit events. He resides in Weston, Florida, in the United States.

On March 26, 2010, after reaching a world ranking of 98 in professional tennis, Odesnik pled guilty to importing HGH to Australia, prior to the Brisbane International, a warm-up event for the Australian Open. He was fined 7,000 USD, and faces a multi-year banishment from professional tennis.

As of February 2010, Sam Querry is the third-highest ranked American. His career high rank was #22, achieved on August 31, 2009. His height allows him to play with a strong serve and forehand. Querrey holds the record for most consecutive service aces since the ATP began keeping records of those statistics, with ten.

Although seeded at the Australian Open, Querrey lost in first round to 2003 Australian Open finalist Rainer Schuttler. Querrey then reached the semifinals of the SAP Open where he lost to Andy Roddick 6-2 6-7(5) 6-7(4) in singles. However, Querrey teamed with Mardy Fish to win the doubles title.

Sam Querrey and Isner have been selected to play singles for the United States Davis Cup Team against Serbia on indoor clay in March 2010.
