American Star player, Andy Roddick will be facing up Tomas Berdych in the Sony Ericssion Open 2010 match on Sunday.

In the 2010 Sony Ericsson Open, Tomas Berdych astonished an error-filled No.1 seed Roger Federer 6-4, 6-7(3), 7-6(6) in the Round of 16 after saving a match point on Federer’s serve in the tiebreak at 6-5, which he won 8-6. This makes his second victory over Roger and ending an 8 straight losing streak to the Swiss. Later, he has defeated Spaniard Fernando Verdasco 4-6, 7-6(5), 6-4 for a spot in the semifinals. Berdych overpowered the no.5 seed Robin Soderling in two sets in the semis, 6-2, and 6-2.

Andy Roddick is the top-ranked American player among other American male tennis players. He won Grand Slam singles champion when he won the title at the 2003 US Open. Roddick has reached four other Grand Slam finals (Wimbledon three times and the US Open once), losing to Roger Federer each time.

Playing in the 2010 BNP Paribas Open, Roddick went to the semifinals with straight sets wins over Yen-Hsun Lu, Thiemo de Bakker, Jurgen Melzer and Tommy Robredo, continuing a winning record against all his opponents. He then faced Robin Soderling in the semifinals, and despite a 0–2 record against him, won 6–4, 3–6, 6–3. Roddick lost to Ivan Ljubicic 7-6(3), 7-6(5) in the finals. This was Roddick’s first Masters Series finals since 2006 Cincinnati Masters.
